Surgical Team Returns From Haiti
Please join members of the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center surgical team who have recently returned from Haiti for a discussion about their journey.
| Tuesday, February 9, 2010 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Fontaine Auditorium Health Education Center 499 Hawthorne Avenue in Oakland |
The Alta Bates Summit family is proud that four members of our clinical team spent eight days in Haiti. As part of a 15-member surgical team from Sutter Health, they often worked 12-16 hour days tending to the surgical and critical care needs of hundreds of patients.
| Joan Chamberlain, RN OR Nurse | David Chang, MD Orthopedic Surgeon |
| John Donovan, MD Anesthesiologist | Scott Taylor, MD Orthopedic Surgeon |
At this unique event you will hear their incredible stories, see many photographs, and have the opportunity to ask questions about their work in the town of Saint-Marc at St. Nicholas Hospital. This 150-bed hospital north of Port-au-Prince took in more than 300 injured patients after the earthquake.
