Team Approach for Coordinated Patient Care.

Our collaborative approach to patient care means that our health care professionals coordinate care among heart-related specialties. In this way, our cardiologists, nurses, pulmonologists, and radiologists work together as a team to diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate our heart patients. We make sure that every detail is in place to effectively manage heart conditions and proactively monitor patient progress.

This coordinated approach wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t develop and maintain a close working relationship with the patient’s primary care physician. The primary care physician provides essential patient history and is a part of the team throughout the diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and discharge process.

Excellent Outcomes
Annually we treat nearly 4,700 cardiology patients, of which more than 1,000 are cardiac surgery patients, at our Cardiovascular Center of Excellence. Our vast experience is one reason Alta Bates Summit is recognized for outstanding cardiac outcomes. Although technology drives us to achieve positive outcomes for our patients, it’s the compassionate care of our medical team that will always be the heart of our mission.
